AIMP เป็นโปรแกรมฟังเพลงเสียงใสน้องใหม่ที่ออกมาท้าชนกับโปรแกรมรุ่นใหญ่อย่าง Winamp โปรแกรมนี้ขึ้นชื่อว่าเป็นโปรแกรมที่ให้เสียงเพลงได้ใสไพเราะกว่า Winamp แถมยังทำงานได้เสถียร ไม่แฮ็งไม่มีค้าง นอกจากนั้นยังกินทรัพยากรเครื่องน้อยกว่า Winamp มาก ทำให้หลายๆ คนต้องเปลี่ยนใจมาใช้โปรแกรมนี้เป็นโปรแกรมคู่ใจหลายต่อหลายคนแล้ว โปรแกรมหน้าตาการทำงานคล้ายกับ Winamp มาก ทำให้ผู้ที่เคยใช้มาก่อนสามารถเปลี่ยนมาใช้ได้ไม่ยาก แต่อาจจะเป็นรองในด้านสกินและปลั๊กอินอยู่เนื่องจากยังมีให้เลือกใช้ไม่มาก แต่ความสามารถอื่นๆ รับรองว่าไม่ได้ด้อยกว่าเลย สำหรับการอัพเดทครั้งนี้ก็เป็นการแก้ไขบั๊กและแก้ไขเกี่ยวกับการแปลโปรแกรมเป็นภาษาอื่นๆ

IMP is a full-featured music player designed with sound quality and wide customizable functionality in mind. Thirty audio formats are supported. Audio is processed in 32-bit for crystal-clear sound. The player features a 18-band graphics equalizer with extra built-in sound effects. You can extend the existing functionality adding Input DSP and Gen plug-ins from Winamp. All local and global hotkeys are customizable. Full Unicode support. You can convert AudioCD to MP3 OGG WAV or WMA. Similarly you can grab sound from any audio device on your PC to MP3 OGG WAV or WMA formats.

Whats new in this version:

Version 3.0 build 985 updated localizations and fixed the following issues:

- Player isnt able to use WASAPI for outputting on Windows 8
- Player does not play short files completely
- Small scratches can be heard on jumping from one track to another when equalizer is switched on
- Incorrect information about bitrate is displayed for some radio stations
- Windows Explorer does not display data from tags of file in WMA Lossless format after theyve been edited by AIMP
- DropWheel window is painted incorrectly in AIMP2 skins
- File mark does not display in playlist when AIMP2 skin is used
- Incorrect information about file format is displayed in Quick Tag Editor in some cases
- Incorrect information about bitrate and duration is displayed for some files in OGG format
- Files are added in backward order when they are adding via Find new files dialog
- Some problems with TrayControl behavior
- layer starts playback of switched off tracks when jumping to another playlist via hotkeys
